We’ve decided to hit the ol’ Indefinite Hi-way.. Buckaroony Toons has left the band, and the rest of us all need to go to our rooms and take some time to think about what we’ve done.
So I’m just gonna take all the tracks from the album we recorded, and put ’em right here for now:
Well, the records showed up. They sound like shiiiiiit. I mean it’s like an AM radio that’s not even coming in, and a few of them don’t even have the hole in the direct center, so the recording speeds up and slows down as it makes a full rotation. It’s actually pretty hilarious sounding.. they look pretty cool on the clear vinyl at least! But we’re thinking that instead of having a record release for this one, we’ll celebrate by tossing them in a dark corner of the basement. Maybe my grand kids will find the box someday and put one in a commemorative coffee table display case next to the knife I used to cut my own nuts off when I realized that they were all born ugly.
We are still sitting on our proverbial whale pelvis bones around the metaphorical fire hole trying to warm up our hypothetical hand bloods and wondering “WHERE THE F ARE OUR 7 INCHES?”
We expected to have these things over a month ago at the latest, so I called the lathe guy in New Zealand and was told that there were some delays because of the holidays and this and that. OK, no worries. At that time he said they are ‘basically done’ and would be shipping Friday. Well, Friday would have been January 7th, also known as a month ago today. I guess it’s possible that it takes a bunch of records a whole month to ship from New Zealand to Portland, but that seems like pretty much the max, right? I guess I don’t know fuck all about international shipping, but I would like to think the delay is that Frodo and Gandalf are bringing our 7 inches from New Zealand by way of sailship, and since I tend to do what I like, what I am currently doing is thinking that the delay is because Frodo and Gandalf are bringing our 7 inches by way of sailship.
Anyway, whatever. We are working on new songs, and the old ones will show up on vinyl when they show up I guess. Working on new songs basically always means EVERYTHING IS GOING GREAT! Seriously.
Yo check it out, we recently played a few songs on Portland podcast Sessions From The Box:
Reverse Dotty
April 13th, 2010
Reverse Dotty is a newer band. I promise. You’d be excused if you thought that they were part of the pantheon of classic post punk bands that spazzily worm their way into your heart, mind, and booty. Dig more of their vibe at www.reversedotty.com or www.myspace.com/reversedotty.
As you can see below, our sound has changed somewhat. We’ve been listening exclusively to black metal these past few weeks and it is hoped that the Reverse Dotty legion will embrace this new direction.
"BRING TO ME HER BLOOD THUS THE CARRION CHILD SURVIVE"
The show was fantastic, thanks a milli to everyone who came to see us! The new songs all went over really well — even though every song was brand new, we barely messed up at all. Surprised myself even. And guess what; we’ve already got two more in the oven for the next show.
We spent so long getting the album all tracked and mixed and everything that having some new material was WAY overdue and It feels super great to be creating again.
We will be debuting a set of all brand new songs this Thursday! We’re really excited for these new tracks and hope to see everyone in the whole world at the show: Ash Street, downtown PDX, Oct 1st, 21+, 10pm!
FIRST OF ALL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CARL AND MELODY. GOOD JOB GUYS YOU EARNED IT OR WHATEVER.
OK, anyway, we’re overdue to write some new stuff, especially now that the lineup has been changed around a bit. So, we aren’t going to be playing any shows or anything until we have at least enough songs to play a whole new set. We are simply delighted by the prospect of breaking deez nuts off on some new tits.
And Bryan quit the band.. He is moving to Seattle for a job / girlfriend thing. He will be sticking it out for the next few shows to ease the transition as we welcome Damaris into the band/cult. I am really happy to be playing with her, she is totally fun and hilarious which means this will work out perfectly. Also, her playing and singing are great which is totally a bonus.
